The MetSoc Endowment grant allowed students and scientists across Turkey to attend the 3rd Turkish Meteorite Workshop. The workshop was held over 2 days at the Earth Science Application and Research Center of Ankara University. The first day consisted of hands-on training for preparation and characterization of meteorites. Participants had the chance of investigating meteorites using electron microprobe, Raman and XRF spectrometers. The second day consisted of scientific talks. There were 13 presentations on meteorites; scientists and students shared results of their research on meteorites. The presentations were followed by an open discussion session. Over 50 people attended the workshop, and overall it was a success, thanks to the MetSoc Endowment grant.
