  • Award Nominations Are Open – Please consider nominating your deserving colleagues for awards! In particular, nominations for Fellows are being considered this year and only require one letter from a single individual, so take a moment and send in a nomination. Details for all nominations can be found on the Awards webpage. Nominations for the Leonard Medal, Barringer Award, Nier Prize, Service Award, Jessberger Award, and Fellows all have a deadline of 15 February 2024. Nominations for the Pellas-Ryder award are due by 31 January 2024.

  • Ed Scott Lecture Series – The first lecture of 2024 will be given by Hap McSween on 20 February at 21:00 UTC, entitled "Mars Sample Return: Why Martian Meteorites and Rover Missions Are Not Enough." Mark your calendars and Zoom connection information will be sent to members next month.

  • Plan Early for the 2024 Meeting – Now that it's 2024, it's time to start making your plans to join the 2024 MetSoc meeting in Brussels, July 28 though August 2! Meeting organizers want to note in particular that the dates overlap with the Summer Olympics in nearby Paris, so making travel plans early is advised.
