"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Meteoritical Society for awarding me the research grant. This invaluable support greatly facilitates my travel and stay in France to complete my research internship." – Mayssa Daldoul

Project Title: Morphological study of five recent Martian craters

Brief Summary: The grant supported my research on impact craters, focusing on the analysis of young craters on Mars. Through this project, I used high-resolution data from Mars missions, such as HiRISE and MOLA, to study crater morphology and the formation of pits. Thanks to this research, I completed a manuscript, defended it, and received the highest honors with congratulations from the jury. I also participated in an international conference for young researchers in France ICAY24, where I presented my work. I wrote an abstract, which was accepted for presentation at the AGU24 Annual Meeting.

The Meteoritical Society funds allowed me to spend three months in France to conduct my research at the Geops Laboratory. I was surrounded by experts in the field, which helped me deepen my knowledge. I also attended several conferences held in France that unfortunately do not exist in my country. Thanks to this grant, I had the opportunity to understand and explore the world of research, which motivates me to continue my studies.
