We wanted to share some timely Meteoritical Society activities, opportunities, and announcements:
July 10 - Deadline for Early Registration for the 2023 Meeting! – The deadline to get the early registration rate for the upcoming MetSoc meeting is tomorrow! It is also recommended to book on-campus housing accommodations by that date as well. Visit the 2023 meeting website for more information, including the recently released program.
Sixty-One Members Receive Travel Awards – We are delighted that 61 members are receiving travel awards for the 2023 annual meeting. The travel awards are made possible by a variety of sponsors and generous donations, and total slightly over $80,000 for 2023. We greatly appreciate the support to enable participation in the annual meeting!
GCA Executive Editor Search – The Geochemical Society and the Meteoritical Society are seeking qualified candidates to serve as Executive Editor (EE) of Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta (GCA). See this GCA EE announcement for details, and please share this opportunity. Consideration of applications will begin October 1, 2023.
Flagstaff, Arizona, USA Selected for the 2027 Meeting – The MetSoc Council met in June and considered offers to host the 2027 annual meeting. We appreciate the willingness and enthusiasm of our members to host our annual meeting, and we are happy to announce the 2027 MetSoc meeting will be held in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
